Public customer and website version
Purpose: This notice explains how GoGoGarage collects, uses, stores and shares personal data. It is written for customers, website users and people who contact GoGoGarage for quotes, bookings, diagnostics, repairs or inspections.
1. Who we are
GoGoGarage is operated by Thomas Lee trading as GoGoGarage. For data protection purposes, Thomas Lee is the data controller. This means he decides how and why personal data is used.

2. What personal data we collect
GoGoGarage only aims to collect the information needed to respond to enquiries, provide quotes, make bookings, carry out vehicle work, handle payment, manage warranties and resolve complaints or disputes.

3. Special category data
GoGoGarage does not intentionally collect special category data such as health information, religion, ethnicity, political opinions or biometric data. Customers should avoid sending unnecessary personal or sensitive information. If such information is received incidentally, it will be deleted unless there is a clear legal or safety reason to keep it.
4. How we use personal data and our lawful bases
GoGoGarage uses personal data only where there is a lawful basis under UK data protection law. The main lawful bases are contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests and consent.

5. Vehicle photographs and video
GoGoGarage may take photographs or short videos of vehicles for quoting, diagnostics, repair evidence, warranty support, quality control, insurance, complaints or dispute handling. These images may include the VRM, dashboard, odometer, visible damage, parts, repair area, driveway or surrounding area if relevant or unavoidable.
- Images will be limited to what is reasonably needed for the job or dispute.
- GoGoGarage will avoid capturing people, private household details or unnecessary background information wherever reasonably possible.
- Where practical, irrelevant personal details may be cropped, blurred or not retained.
- Vehicle photographs will not be sold to third parties.
- Photographs will only be used for social media, website, before-and-after posts, advertising or promotional material if the customer gives explicit permission first.
- If a customer gives marketing permission, GoGoGarage will normally blur or avoid showing the VRM unless the customer clearly agrees otherwise.
6. Payments and banking information
GoGoGarage may accept cash, card payment or bank transfer. Card payments may be processed by a reputable third-party payment provider such as SumUp, Zettle, Stripe, Square, PayPal, a bank card reader provider or another equivalent provider. The exact provider may vary.
- GoGoGarage does not directly store full card numbers, card security codes or card credentials.
- The payment provider may process payment data under its own privacy notice and security terms.
- If a customer pays by bank transfer, GoGoGarage may see and retain limited bank transaction information such as payer name, payment reference, amount and date as part of business banking and accounting records.
- GoGoGarage does not use standing orders, direct debits or regular recurring payments unless this is separately agreed in writing in future.
7. Who we share personal data with
GoGoGarage does not sell personal data. Data is only shared where reasonably necessary for the service, legal compliance, payment, website operation or dispute handling.

Current operating position: GoGoGarage does not use subcontract mechanics, external admin support, external social media staff, external website staff or external accountants with routine access to customer data. If this changes, this notice should be updated.
8. Website, cookies and online tools
GoGoGarage may operate a website with an enquiry form, booking widget, online payment link, Google Maps, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar analytics/advertising tools. GoGoGarage does not currently intend to use live chat.
- Strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies may be used to make the website work.
- Non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking tools, such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel, should only be used where the website gives users appropriate information and choices.
- Google Maps and similar embedded tools may collect device or usage information when used.
- A separate cookie notice or cookie banner may be used where required.
- Customers should not submit unnecessary sensitive information through website forms or messaging tools.
9. Where data is stored and how it is protected
Customer data may be stored in a business cloud account or similar secure system, such as Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud, Google Workspace or another reputable provider. Data may also be held in business email, messaging apps, business devices, invoices, payment records and backup systems.
- Access is intended to be limited to Thomas Lee as the sole data controller.
- Business devices and accounts should be protected with passwords, device locks and multi-factor authentication where available.
- GoGoGarage will take reasonable steps to keep data accurate, secure and limited to what is necessary.
- Cloud and payment providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, GoGoGarage will aim to use providers that apply appropriate safeguards.
10. How long we keep personal data
GoGoGarage keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, unless a longer period is required for tax, warranty, legal, insurance, complaint or dispute reasons.

11. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, customers and website users may have the right to:
- be informed about how their data is used;
- ask for a copy of their personal data;
- ask for inaccurate data to be corrected;
- ask for data to be deleted where there is no lawful reason to keep it;
- ask for use of their data to be restricted;
- object to certain uses of their data;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, such as marketing use of vehicle photographs;
- ask for data portability where this applies.
GoGoGarage will normally respond to data protection rights requests within one month. GoGoGarage may ask for information to confirm identity before responding. Some rights are not absolute and may not apply where GoGoGarage needs to keep data for tax, warranty, legal, dispute, insurance or legitimate business reasons.

13. Updates to this notice
GoGoGarage may update this Privacy Notice from time to time, especially if the website, payment provider, cloud provider, booking process, marketing use, business structure or data sharing arrangements change.
